We have three cats who like chewing on plants. This means we are very restricted as to what we can have in our home. They cannot be poisonous to cats, and they have to be hardy. For the most part though, our plants are fake.
These are the ones in the bathroom. These ones are fake because the bathroom has very little natural light, and real ones would not be happy here
The green one in the background of the photograph below is fake, and the African violets behind the handbag are real.
And in the photo below the pink African violet is real, but the purple one is fake. It is a very good fake though, because it does not look perfect.
It’s not impossible to teach cats not to eat plants, difficult yes but impossible, no! I used to have 13 cats who were trained young not to eat plants (not because they were dangerous just that they were fake) and then I got real plants which were never touched.
