In my family, having peacock feathers in the house was thought to bring bad luck. It seemed to be a common superstition in my family and among my friends at school. Maybe it was something about the ‘eyes’ on the feathers. But in Asia it is seen as lucky. The Indian Peafowl is the national bird of India.
My godmother used to have lots of them in her rather large garden and they made a horrible horrible noise, but they were spectacular. None as stunning as this one though. The last seconds gave me goosebumps!
Peacocks are really beautiful but can do without the noise they make. I love it when they fly (not far or very high but they are amazing birds with those magnificent tail feathers.
The noise is, indeed, horrendous!
