Weekend Wanderings

I loved this painting, though I couldn’t get a good photo without a reflection. The colours were amazing, even on the grey day.

An Easter Egg made of marshmallows. I did not find this very appealing, I have to say.

I loved this ad on the bus. It says ‘happiness is getting another wrinkle’ and is an advert for the Breast Cancer Foundation.’ We are so often bombarded with messages that wrinkles are the worst thing that can happen, and this goes directly against that. I loved it.

I chuckled at this one

This really surprised me. You often see dogs in beds in shop windows, but I have never seen a cat. I wanted to go into the shop to say hello but I was not sure if I would stress the catto.

This was a very interesting initiative in a nearby shopping mall. You could stop by and be taught how to customise and mend clothing. Most of the people taking part the times I walked past were teenage boys.

My mother lived through World War II and so she taught me when I was young to darn socks, sew on buttons, mend tears and make alterations. When I was younger she made all my clothes, and she always made her clothes on her trusty Singer sewing maching. She learned from her mother who had one of those very old Singers with the big treadle (pedal)
