A good read about death cleaning

I have written several times previously about my year-long decluttering project. It was probably the most liberating thing I have ever done. Read my summary here .

I still regularly have ‘throw away days’ where I weed out magazines, old makeup, clothes that no longer fit, cat toys they never play with, extra coffee mugs, rings that don’t fit etc etc. I then recycle, donate or sell.

So it was really interesting to read this article in the New Yorker last week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

  1. Thank you for this article. We keep so much stuff we think we will use one day or sometime soon, and in truth we never use it. I remember about a month ago I walked into my house and thought I have too much stuff. I need to purge. This article and your piece will give me the impetus to do so!
