What seems to be a little-known fact is that you can get tuberculosis in almost every part of the body, such as:
- Lining of the brain and spinal cord (meninges)
- Eye
- Cervical lymph nodes
- Larynx (voice box)
- Bronchus
- Lining of the heart (pericardium)
- Lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum)
- Small bowel
- Stomach
- Organs of the male or female urinary and reproductive systems
- Skin
- Bones and joints
- Kidneys
- Spine
Also, you have to complete your course of treatment for tuberculosis because it recurs and if you get it again after having started treatment for it previously but not completed the course, you are likely to develop MDR-TB (Multi-drug resistant TB)
