Ruby, moonstone and amethyst cameo rings

Are they not exquisite?

I have always loved cameos. Probably because my mother had a cameo suite (brooch, pendant, ring, earrings and bracelet) and I was fascinated with it. I loved seeing all the details carved into the shell.

My most favourite tiara is the Swedish royal family’s Cameo tiara

So it is not surprising that I love the vintage ruby, moonstone and amethyst rings below, all from the Etsy shop, Otherwise Engaged.

  1. Are these in your personal collection Janet? They are stunning. I love amethyst and ruby too. Don’t know much about moonstone but I reckon it would make a fabulous crystal ball for gazing/meditation. A few years ago we went to Sorrento which is famous for cameos. A man sits at his bench outdoors carving them. Fascinating and very skilled, and he said to avoid the fashionable blue cameo as they are machine made German fakes.
