Swedes are very much the same though. And I do the ‘moving the bag on my knees thing when I want to get off the bus!

    1. LOL, when the passenger beside me does not do a reciprocal shuffle to show they saw me signalling I would be getting off, I start to panic that I may have to speak to them!

    I think these Very British Problems can be applied anywhere in the world. Especially the “touching your bag” that is a common attitude. A variant is “taking your car/house keys out before getting off the public transport” as if your door would suddenly materialize in front of you. It always makes me laugh seeing people do it.
