Gorgeous jewellery from William Llewellyn Griffiths as Metal Couture

William_portrait

My rings tend to be of two kinds. Very plain and wearable (like the rings I wear daily) and like small works of art which I display rather than wear. I have one stunning articulated tiger armour ring I got in India that stretches from my wrist to my fingertip and another gold articulated armour ring from Turkey with huge drusy stones in it. I seldom wear them though but they are where I can see them every day.

William’s rings, particularly his wedding rings, are more wearable but very very unusual. They are not cheap but the work put into them and his talent means they are not overpriced. I admire the more creepy ones, not for the subject matter but rather for the sheer artistry that goes into making them. My favourite ones are the locking ones and the unusual wedding rings in the Claddagh style.

Find William on Etsy and his own site, where you can read all about him.

  1. Thank you, thank you, Janet, for sharing. I have been looking for a silver sugar skull ring and now have one from this artist on order. Raised Catholic in a family of Polish ancestry, and now living in Texas, the Day of the Dead symbology as celebrated in Mexico rings familiar and appealing. I’m looking forward to wearing the ring as a reminder of beloved family members that have passed.

  2. HAVE to comment….I did go and look at his site and his etsy shoppe – omg – he is so talented…. the workmanship/craftsmanship is amazing!!!! My favorites are the Claddagh ring with the diamond (a wish for my 25th wedding anniv this December if hubby would ever hit the lottery), the Till death do us part ring, and all locking rings…. onto necklaces… I love his pieces! Thanks for posting! I enjoyed dreaming!!!!!
