I had an Irish father, through whom I am an Irish citizen, I trained as a teacher in Ireland, have an Irish driver’s licence and my ex husband is Irish. Plus my one cat is called Paddy and I went to an Irish Catholic Convent school for 12 years. So happy St Patrick’s Day to me and all my Irish friends, relatives and readers!
Many do not know that St. Patrick is the patron saint of engineers. I learned this when my son started engineering school at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The entire university takes off today to celebrate and have a parade.
Hear, hear! My Irish ancestors came to England at the height of the potato famine, a situation almost unimaginable. Happy St Patrick’s day to all.
Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit!
