Well, it was a wrench moving out of the Buttercup Ostrich. I love that binder and it is so perfectly designed. But this one was calling….
I have kept this photo big so you can see the detailing and the perfect stitching. This colour way is a mix of brown, beige, grey, blue, green and cream. It even has a slightly pink sheen.Coins and spare keys in zippered pocket, notes in front flap. I am not a silver person but this binder looks perfect with silver hardwareMaryanne Moll inserts with brown Filofax ruler. I am not a fan of Filofax black rulers so use brown, transparent or (as a last resort) the black ones with gold detailing.Several credit card holders for loyalty cardsInside front page. A personalised front page by Maryanne Moll, Muji sticky check list on the back of my Filofax mirror. My timetable for last week at work before Christmas. The washi (which Paula sent me) denotes free days.Discount vouchers in clear plastic envelopes and credit cards and travel card in slots.
This binder is not as brilliantly laid out as the Ostriches but in lieu of the end pockets on the Ostrich, this one has the full-length back pocket. And everything else fits in perfectly. I used it today and there was no fumbling around while I found things in this new layout so it is very intuitively designed.
The feel of it is fascinating. It is soft and feels semi-rubbery, semi-plasticky but in a leathery way. There is no doubt that this is leather but the detailing must have involved a lot of work for the artisans as it is very painstakingly done.
This binder in this colour was one of only four made.
