This is one of my favorites, and it was so much fun to make.
I love Halloween! All of October, really… There’s an atmosphere of ancient mystery about it that you don’t get any other time of the year.
The design depicts the skeletal form of a man wading through a flooded cellar full of casks, floating pumpkins, candles, and moonlight. What is it lurking in the shadows?
This book is nice and heavy. It opens to a lovely deep creaking sound that is peculiar to old leather books. And odd as it sounds, it feels as good as it looks! Nothing beats the texture of leather.
The design has been tooled across both dark grey covers and accented with silver. Within, the endpapers are mossy green.
Nothing about this book is mass produced. I start from raw materials- paper, leather, linen thread- and bind them together using the old techniques.
Wow, a work of art…. beautiful
