The East India by the amazing Jonathan Vanderholm who trades as ArtificeBooks on Etsy. This book is one of a kind and probably one of the most beautiful things I own.
The book has a secret compartment at the front which opens to reveal carved ‘stone’ panelling in leather (all done by hand). When you close that one up you open the back which has more ‘stone’ panelling. Every stitch was sewn by hand and the brown leather is one single piece. I have a huge collection of hand bound books and this is easily the most beautiful one.
I have used this book daily for about five years now and it looks better the more battered it gets.
