Butterfly Wing Jewellery

My mother used to have butterfly wing jewellery and as a child I was fascinated by it. It was so iridescent and detailed yet so delicate and pretty. I am not sure what happened to it but I often think of her beautiful pieces – particularly the large brooches. It was popular from about the 1920s to the 1950s. I am not sure if I would buy new ones now as I don’t want to think how they are made but I would buy second hand ones. I have found an article on it herebutterflywingbrooch
