Galen Leather accordion pouch/bag in C.H. Brown

Galen Leather sent me this lovely pouch/bag to review quite a while back [find it here]. I have used it on two separate long trips – once as a pouch, and once as a bag – and I really like it. It does puff out when it is full, but it looks nice like that actually.  I was worried that I would find the clip clasps difficult to use, but they are very easy to use, unlike buckles, and they are way more secure than magnets.

I used this bag as a cross body bag in the airport, to keep my travel documents and phone handy, and then when I was at my destination, I used it as a purse in my handbag. You could also use it as a pen pouch. The zippered ‘compartment’ is a wallet insert which is SO practical.

This leather shows wear easily, but I really like how it ages. They also have other leathers, such as polished black and undyed.

Galen leather is one of those companies that you just cannot help but love. I have had such amazing conversations with the family. The founder was the late Zeynep, who was an incredible, inspiring woman who instantly made you feel like a friend. The company is now run by her brother Jusuf, and her husband Yunus.

Galen also have the most amazing, sturdy boxes and have always sent little extras with my orders.

  1. My aunt always bought bags with clips because they were less trouble than buckles and I am pleased to see that you find them easier too. The bag looks amazing and the separate item for your travel documents etc makes life easier when travelling.
