A day

I bought these two books, for my Christmas reading.  I bought them both new because I have had them on my list for a while, and they are not going to pop up second-hand anytime soon.

I have a daschund bag charm on my bag at the moment. Daschund are having a moment, it seems, because they are everywhere. Interestingly, kitten heels in Swedish are ‘daschund heels

I saw this interesting cat Christmas/Halloween decoration in a charity shop. It is not something I would ever buy but it was rather striking, though that does not translate well in the photograph

It is getting darker earlier and earlier and November is hammering me more than normal this year. I am so tired and the gloom is depressing, so this cafe was so cosy in the 2pm twilight.

You can see that life expectancy is rising in the fact that cards for 90th and 100th birthdays are not stocked in bulk. It seems like not so long ago it was not that easy to find things for 80th birthdays. Next step, 110!

  1. I lost my maternal grandparents when they were in their 60’s (Granddad died when he was hit by a horse and cart while crossing the road, a car backfired causing the horse to bolt) and my paternal grandma died in her 70’s but both my paternal granddad and my dad lived to be in their 90’s. I wonder if we are ever going to match our potential and live forever?
