I saw this photograph on David Beckham’s instagram and my heart warmed to the man in the background fiddling with the curtain. I imagine that would SO me in the presence of people I have only seen in media. I like to think I would be cool and not try to get a second glance, but even when I walk past a Swedish celebrity (you see them quite often in Stockholm) I do look twice. More for ‘is that really xxx?’ than anything else.
I try to be cool, calm and collected when I see a celebrity. I was unable to ask for an autograph from Meg Ryan as I was on a tour of Universal Studios (being on a vehicle and she was walking towards her Winnebago) but had I been within talking distance I so would have approached her for her autograph (this was in the days before the selfie was possible). I have spoken to Rodney Bewes once but I had to apologise when he was going to sign his autograph as I didn’t have either a pen or a piece of paper, I was also on my way back to work.
