We were out for our last ride of the autumn last week, when I took this photograph. Sweden is full of small buildings like these, and I think they are beautiful. Many of them are very, very old and you remember that the area now known as Sweden has been settled since 12 000BC.

Just such an amazing factoid that there have been homo sapiens living in what is now Sweden for over 14,000 years (or 14 millennia).
This building is stunning: I love how they built it almost inside the earth to use it as insulation for the rough winters. We have all sorts of technologies to protect us from the cold now, but back then, there was nothing too impressive or effective and yet they thrived and here we are!…
