This is so me

  • I want to read an instruction manual/book/blog/article. I don’t want to watch a video about it.
  • I prefer to read washing instructions on a label and peruse a physical menu. I don’t want to have to scan a QR code to get to a website and then navigate my way to what I want.
  • I like to read a book on the train, not watch the film on my phone.
  • I want to read a review of a product and skip to the sentences that interest me, not watch an endless video with about three seconds of what I need right at the end.

  1. Oh that’s me, too. It drives me mad, particularly when HR put out mandatory training things which are only available in video format – I absorb information much faster and more thoroughly in written form, just give me the blasted transcript!

  2. I hate it when I’m struggling with something I bought and want to read an instruction manual so I can get to the part I need quickly and easily only to find the only thing online is a 90 minute video which will go through everything from unboxing to putting it together and then in the last 10 seconds gloss over what I was looking for.
