2023 and 2024

This was taken in Aberdeen, South Africa on 21st January 2024. It is a pretty little town, but when we were there it was over 46°C/115°F and I hated every single minute we spent outside the air-conditioned car

This was taken in Stockholm on 21st January 2024, the day after the temperature was at -17°C/1.4°F. I actually find extreme cold much easier to handle than extreme heat, because the proper clothes can keep you toasty. My husband was wearing jeans under snow trousers and a thick down jacket plus hat and gloves. Harley loves the snow, strangely enough.

  1. One of my cats also loves the snow. She can spend hours running in it. Having said that the temperature here never falls bellow -5°c at night and -3°c during the day.
I also find it much more difficult to cope with the heat. I don’t mind cold weather as I dress properly. When I go to Finland in winter I find it easier to walk in the streets than when I go to Australia and have to spend time in the heat. I have never been attracted to hot countries for that reason.
