This is my undyed Janet Leather pocket-sized planner by Van der Spek after one month of normal use. You can see how it has darkened due to exposure to light.
I have been handling this binder carefully and keeping it in a pouch in my handbag, so the normal scuffs and marks have not happened yet. The darkening is thus pretty even.
Once the leather is dark enough that marks and scuffs don’t matter, I will stop babying it. I normally treat this leather normally from day 1, so the marks come first and then the tan. This time though, I wanted to take a different approach and record it.
This is how undyed leather can age. First photo is from a local Stockholm shop called Grandpa.
And these two are from Il Bisonte, the famous Italian leather goods company.
