During the working day when I have a free hour I sometimes walk around the shops. I often see people applying mascara from the testers, or putting earrings into their piercings to try them on.
Am I being too squeamish when I see people
- applying makeup and skincare products straight from the open tester jars to their faces with their hands
- applying mascara onto their lashes from the testers
- using lipstick testers on their lips
- opening makeup, using it, and putting it back on the shelf
- putting earrings into their piercings, taking them out and putting them back onto the stand?
I also know that not everyone keeps their underwear on when trying on bathing suits because it ‘you can’t see how it really looks that way’, which really gives me the ick.
I know I am a bit squeamish about hygiene, but to me it seems really really unsanitary.
I totally agree with you, I would never dream of putting ear rings through my piercing “to see what they look like” because I was taught hygiene at schools. When my mum was in a store and wanted to try out a lipstick to see what it looked like she used the back of her hand not her lips.
I am 100% with you on that and I’m probably even more disgusted after the whole Covid 19 business… If I buy a lipstick, I would try it on my hand, never on my lips!… And if I could, I would try a bathing suit over ALL my clothes!… Somehow, I have managed to order clothes online and they fit on the first try so I have not had to send things back and I’m pretty sure that the clothes I ordered haven’t been tried on anyone before. However, once the labels come off, they go straight into the washing machine!
I don’t especially like it either but people do what they do. I just make sure I’m not one of them.
