Fenjal memories

When I grew up we always had fenjal in the bathroom for days when you wanted to be fancy. The bath oil and soap had such a distinctive smell.

I saw some on the shelf of a local store today. The label stated ‘iconic fragrance’ so I had a sniff. It smells almost 100% the same, although I remember the original as having a stronger smell. I guess nowadays people don’t want the fragrance to be overpowering.

I was kind of tickled at the description below – fenjal has always been a favourite gift for friends, for mums and for grandmothers. I guess that means the demographic is oldies. When I was young, grannies liked  Coty Lavender Water!
