It is believed in some circles that when our pets have gone on ahead, and hey feel we have had enough time to mourn them, they send another life for us to save and love. That is their legacy to us.

So true. We had two Labs, Oliver & Sadie who left us a early ages to Lymphoma and a brain aneurysm. It was only about a year apart. After a period we agreed, “No more”, and we’d just keep loving our cats & birds. One day we heard from a shelter ( our names were given to them by an un-named friend) about a lovable terrier who badly needed a home. Kicking and screaming we dragged each other to the shelter and there he was – Pierre. Research indicated he might belong to the “Glen of Imaal” branch of the terrier clan. From minute 1, we knew, and here he is, the new owner of our house, who welcomes all, man or beast, and is known by everyone who passes by. Seeing he was born sometime in March we celebrate his birthday on St. Patrick’s Day. He just had his third. So yes, Oliie & Sadie knew it was time.
