I saw this t shirt display when I was at Uniqlo a while back. I used to love going to Uniqlo in London because they sell such reasonably-priced good-quality basics (down jackets, cashmere in a myriad of colours, and gorgeous denim). Their styles are classic and can be dressed up or down. Many of their items are unisex. I bought two plaited belts from Uniqlo London in 2012 and they are still going. So I was thrilled when Uniqlo came to Sweden. Muji is very successful here, and so is Uniqlo – probably because the Scandinavian ethic of good quality basics and pared-down minimalism is very similar to the Japanese.
I went to Uniqlo to buy one of their Ultra Light Weight puffer down jackets on the winter sale. I almost never buy anything at full price – I always use sales, discounts, membership points etc to buy things. That way I can afford things that would normally be beyond my means. I have long wanted one of these jackets for that tricky season in Sweden when a heavy down jacket is too hot, and my leather ones are too cold. The Ultra Light jackets fold down into a little pouch for carrying in your handbag or luggage just in case. I also have a down gilet on my list, but that is for another time.
I bought a navy blue one because I thought it would cross seasons better than either a cream one or a black one. The M was big enough to have layers underneath.
Love Uniqlo! And as a shorter guy, it’s one of the few places on the high street where I can find clothes that fit me. It’s that or fly to Tokyo… 🤣
I think I like Uniqlo even more than Muji, and that is saying something!
