Remember when…

Remembering:

  • when siblings were similarly dressed
  • when dad did all the driving on family holidays
  • coffee in a thermos
  • manually winding down windows
  • ashtrays and cigarette lighters in the cars
  • venetian blinds on the back windows
  • nodding dog car ornaments
  • maps in the glove compartment, or cubby hole
  • squabbling siblings in the back seat, for example ‘make him stop looking at me’
  • playing ‘I spy with my little eye’
  • spotting licence plate numbers as part of a game
  • ‘are we there yet’
