Many of the headline grabbing ‘high-fashion’ seen on the catwalk is to gain column inches and for shock value. The colours and styles are diluted a great deal before they are sold as ready-to-wear. Designers seem to try and outdo each other as to who can be the most extreme.
For me fashion often veers from the ridiculous things on catwalks to boring separates in the local department store. I tend to forget that fashion and fashion photography can be beautiful, inspirational, and art. Even if some of the garments featured below are not easily wearable, the photographs are stunning. I follow Amanda Selby on Instagram and her beautifully curated and tagged feed features the art of fashion photography, pure and simple. Amanda’s own signature piece is always a huge, quirky necklace, which she can really carry off. Plus she has a gorgeous cat. I recommend a follow!
