The sales platform Redbubble (I am not linking them because they are not getting one extra click from me) had these for sale recently…fashion and home items with photographs from Nazi death camps.
Without resorting to shouty capitals to show my absolute rage at this….In what world can anybody think this is cool and edgy? Are they young? Did they not learn about this at school? Do they not care? In what universe is a photograph symbolising the systematic slaughter of millions of people something to be thrown on your sofa or worn to the supermarket? Is the next step Instagram ‘influencers’ posing half-naked at Auschwitz like they did at Chernobyl?
The Auschwitz memorial complained about the Redbubble items and they were removed, but I am sure something similar will pop up soon enough because people just don’t learn.
Oh my gosh Janet. This sickens me but I’m not surprised from what I’ve been reading and seeing the past few years. Going to message you.
