In the first one, the pupils are not checking their texts or anything, but reading up on the painting online, using an app. In the second one Hilary Clinton told the crowd that if they wanted a selfie with her, to turn around and she would wave at them.

So they are not as bad as they might initially look. But it still shows that we no longer directly enjoy something. We enjoy it through our devices. Which is kind of sad.
