The scratches and marks are blending in nicely now and the colour is now a deep gold.In a different light so you can see it somewhere else.Taken on the balcony steps. It matches the light pine of my living room floor. This is a true depiction of the colour. The sun is blinding!Lays about two thirds flat now.Because it does not live on a desk, it does not lay flat. My guess is that if I did work at a desk with it open and my hand pressing on it all the time it would be flat by now. But it spends its life closed, rushing from place to place and opened every ten minutes rather than staying open. The corners are glossy and darkening, and starting to hug the contents beautifully.I usually crop my photos but I really love this desk so thought I would leave the leather in this photo. It is over 100 years old now so the leather is really battered!

It’s looking gorgeous now. And I have never deliberately tanned it. If I had it would be a smooth even caramel, I bet.
