Black A5 Cross Organiser with pen – a gift from Nati

About a week ago Nati contacted me and said she would like to give me her black A5 Cross organizer because she was not using it. I was flabbergasted at her generosity and the way she overrode my protests that it was too generous. That afternoon she let me know she had posted it. Last night, just a few days later, I was able to collect it from the post office. And it could not have come on a better day.

I find the winters tough in Sweden – not the cold but the darkness – and suffer from SAD most autumns when we are suddenly pitched into darkness mid-October. In addition I am suffering from a bad sinus infection and working two jobs right now which means working weekends. So last night at about 8pm I was on my way home from work and feeling grim, when I got a notification on my phone that I had a parcel. In Sweden you collect your post at the supermarket so they are open seven days a week, supermarket hours.

Bone-crushingly tired but look what is on the belt at the supermarket. A present!
Bone-crushingly tired but look what is on the belt at the supermarket with my dinner. A present! Boy did that cheer me up 🙂

I did not open it when I got home about two hours later as I was exhausted and just wanted to eat and fall into bed. I walked 10.2km during the day which is slightly more than normal.

So today I woke up early, waited for it to go from darkness to gloom and opened my package!

Beautifully wrapped. Thank you Nati!

First view – look at that interesting pen loop. And the pen is divine! The leather is glorious – just what you would imagine Cross leather to be like. I would like to be a person who always uses pen loops but I am not. I end up losing the pens in the bottom of my bag because I never put them back in the loop after using them. This may be the answer to my problem.

Extremely nice secretarial pocket on the left, with a zipped pocket and credit card pockets – very nice design. To the right is a suede, non-slip surface.

I bought my wonderful Rose Classic Filofax and my travel journal from Nati, who also gave me my cat bookmark. Nati, I am so grateful for this gift, which shall join all my other special gifted binders on a shelf. When I have a bad day I look at them and know that out there somewhere are people that think about me. Life has been pretty stingy with blood family where I am concerned but I have a very large extended family all over the world and I want to thank you all for being there. x

  1. What a lovely gift. The Cross leather is beautiful, I am currently using my A5 purple as a health & fitness journal with your inserts that you recently linked. They’ve been really helpful – thank you. I am now getting a lot more water down me!

  2. Nice post Janet.. thank you 😉 .. It is normal that reminds you of driving gloves. The company was inspired Cross auto leathers for the design of this planner.

  3. OMGosh! How sweet is that! That brought tears to my eyes.
To hear that helps to restore some faith in people.

  4. That looks really lush! I have a Cross binder in personal size (one of the 1846 collection) – a beautiful binder that I’ve yet to find a use for. The suede at the back is a nice touch. The inner of a couple of my Day Timers are suede and it really does grip the paper.

Sorry to hear you’re not too well – hope you pick up soon xx

    1. Thank you! Yes it is gorgeous – I am so lucky when readers like you do gorgeous happy things for me. I am feeling grim but it is just a combination of a sinus infection and exhaustion I think. A good sleep will do wonders and I am not working tonight.
