Black Personal Baroque

I have written about my mini Teal Baroque before. I love the Baroque! I loved this style the first time I ever saw it but was blasé about being able to find one whenever I got round to buying. Next thing I knew they had been discontinued and the only one I could find was a mini in teal on a 50% off sale. I bought it, used it for travelling for many years, and continued to hunt. They do pop up every now and then but at sky-high prices. And they sell really quickly.

When I started talking to Christophe at Bouteia on eBay I mentioned that I was hunting for a Baroque. He did not have any so I didn’t think any more about it. I bought a lovely blue Bromley for £25 on a bouteia auction and before it was sent to me I received a message from Christophe. The Bromley was actually a Piccadilly – would I like the Piccadilly, a refund or at no extra charge……A BLACK BAROQUE! Well, naturally I chose the Baroque.

And here it is!

That gorgeous soft supple leather and (this is the first time I have ever seen this) a personal sized notebook to slot into the back pocket. And boy are these rings tight. They close with the most satisfying snap I have ever heard in my life!

I really do love this style. I wish Filofax would reissue it in the original Teal, Hot Pink and Black. And of course, add more colours such as purple, forest green and crimson with optional gold embossing on the inside.
