In my spare time I am involved with husky and wolf rescue in South Africa and wolf issues in Sweden so I thought I would post some videos of dogsledding in Greenland, just to show the husky in their natural habitat.

In South Africa many people attempt to keep wolves or husky x wolves as pets. They are complicated animals and when they are not understood they end up abused, neglected and abandoned. There are people who devote their lives to rescuing and rehabilitating these beautiful animals. If you know any wolf or husky in South Africa who needs help please contact me and I will put you in touch with someone. These animals are often misidentified as German Shepherds and end up in SPCAs, where they are in many cases euthanased.

Greenland dogs are a large breed of husky-type dog kept as a sled dog and for hunting polar bear and seal. They are hardy dogs, trained in the fan-formation of the traces. Used mostly by the indigenous Sami and Inughuit. This is an ancient breed, thought to be directly descended from dogs brought to Greenland by the first Inuit settlers.
