I found this photograph, taken in the 1990s, of the Physics Department at Rhodes University. Can you spot me? I used to work at the Hermann Ohlthaver Institute for Aeronomy, which focused on ionospheric modeling and atmospheric research. My job was using LaTeX to typeset written technical or scientific documentation. LaTeX is a markup language for mathematical and scientific symbols. I found it a great deal of fun, and it made it easy for me to learn HTML later.

I rather liked this handbag, by House of Nordic. The leather was nice, and it was reminiscent of Y2K Mulberry and Chloé designs. They had two sizes of this particular model, and several colours.

I wrote about Stockholm lions a few days ago, so I was quite aware of them as I walked home the other day. Here is a gloomy, scruffy street, guarded by eight of them!

As the rainy weather continues, my husband takes Harley out for his walk whenever he can. Here they are in the pouring rain, while a squirrel waits for them to leave in a brutally pruned tree. He’s always on a harness so he cannot escape and catch anything.

My brother-in-law (who takes lovely photographs) sent this photograph of the family sea cottage. When we were growing up, all the houses were like our one – small wood-and-iron sea shacks with rainwater tanks for fresh water, brack water inside, and no indoor toilets or showers. As time has passed, the small cottages have been demolished and huge houses have been built in their place. Ours remains stalwart, one of the last holdouts.

Absolutely lovely pictures! I recognized you instantly! Those lions look ethereal because they look like they are floating!… Instead of bouncing towards you, they may glide and then bounce!… I was also in Hamburg this week and I passed by a Lego shop that had a GIANT Catrick!
