Mälaren runt 2025

On Saturday we participated, as usual in the annual motorbike ride around Lake Mälaren on Saturday. Over 300km and a little cold this year but no rain and plenty of participants (normally around 20 000 motorcycles). The atmosphere is always fantastic.

Daniel Brace, of Braceiller Productions, rocked it out of the park as usual with his photographs. It takes a great deal of talent to capture colours and people that are moving.

Daniel took these lovely ones of us (I had my one glove off in the first one because I was just about to hug him)

And here are my favourites:

  1. I noticed that you wear a scarf underneath your helmet whereas most of he others don’t. Is there a specific reason? Sorry for that -possibly- stupid question but I know nothing about the world of motorbikes and never pay attention to what bikers wear.

    1. Not a stupid question at all! The ‘buff’ (tube shaped scarf) I wear is similar to those skiers wear for warmth and protection. It can be arranged to go over your head as well but I wear mine pulled up to just below my eyes. It prevents wind and dust, keeps me warm, and covers my neck. If it is really hot I don’t wear it, but then my nose runs a lot from the wind, and dust gets in under my visor. I also like the bit of colour it adds because everything else I wear is black. I have a couple in different colours.

  2. Fantastic event! Gorgeous pictures and I love how everyone (and their dogs!) are included!

  3. Great pics of biker chick and her biker boy and bikes. Known in SA as a “Bony” (bike)
