I found this mini Filofax Kensington – brand new in box – at a thrift store a while ago.

I bought it to rescue it from landfill (I hate seeing old lockets with photographs in them and old Filofaxes thrown into bargain buckets, the last stop before trashing) but I have only ever used mini planners to travel with before. Would it be too small to use for work?

I now have black Kensingtons in Personal, Pocket and mini size. The design is so practical and the leather is robust and light. But I have never though of using a mini as a work planner. I have so many bookings to write down on the fly (being a teacher, my writing is naturally on the bigger side), and I keep long lists and copious notes from lessons.
Then again, I never thought I would size down from A5 to Personal. Or from personal to pocket (where I have happily been for years now).
This little binder is so cute though, I couldn’t resist giving it a bash. I bought 2 rulers (I prefer transparent but could not find any), a couple of packs of lined notepaper, two flyleaves (front dashboard and a category marker) and a week on two page vertical calendar.

Hi Janet, this mini is really lovely! <3 I use mine as a wallet – you could buy plastic card holders that can be punched and put all your cards in it. 🙂
Out of curiosity – where do you always find such beautiful planners? Which trift shops should I visit? 🙂 All the best, Karolina
I find them at Myrorna mostly, and flea markets.
I also have a mini Portobello that I barely used. It’s bright pink and really lovely but I have no use for it anymore… I keep it until I find what to do with it. I think that I can’t really use it because I would need to write so small and I’m at that age where you need all sorts of glasses to read and see from far away… I love the Kensington range. I have one in personal size (black) and it’s really lovely.
