The first time I hear a new phrase it is fresh and exciting. But these terms often become overused and used as padding around a vacuous message. Then you end up with:
I have written about jargon before, but right now these are really grinding my gears (!)
- circle back
- ducks in a row
- bake in (Can you bake that into our pitch?)
- reach out
- hop on a call
- jump on a call
- thought leader
- lets put a pin in this
- can we dialogue on this?
- synergy
- holistic perspective
- pushback
- solutioning
- ping me
- let’s not get too far into the weeds
- hustle
- touch base
- climb aboard
- let’s take this offline
- out of pocket (no availability)
- low hanging fruit
- girlboss
- table this
- piggyback
- pivoting
- move the needle
- optimising workflow
- in your wheelhouse
- line of sight
- net new changes
- crush it
- thanks for the reach out
- blue sky thinking
- actioning
- run this up the flagpole
- put it on the backburner
- we are looking for rockstars
- we’re all a big family
- speed bump
- to be transitioned out (fired)

In-box me is another annoying one!
and for some reason I hate the phrase ‘piece of work’ can’t you be more specific about the job done or don’t you know !!
The joy of being my own boss is that I don’t have to attend those meetings any more.
Add to these:
– give you a heads-up
– the bespoke process/product/whatever
Agreed and, oh, how about:
○ pushing the envelope (again/ still)
○ let’s pivot
○ let me be clear (when will that start??)
Let’s pivot! I hate that one too!
