Taken in my home town of Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. I miss the Aloes (this is Aloe Ferox) and the special light and wide open spaces that comes from living in a tiny town. Jane has captured the light exactly. This is the light in my memories and it invokes such emotion when I look at this stunning photograph.
How impossibly gorgeous! I have never seen a plant like this. I know the “regular” aloe vera but I had never seen this one. It looks very tall.
You don’t really see a sky of that colour. I often send pictures of the sky from Germany to my Japanese friend and she often comments on how different the colour is compared to the sky in Japan. But the sky in Japan is so vibrant with colour…
