Facial Masks

During the worst of the pandemic, when I was working at home and feeling stressed, I started a relaxing early evening ritual with scented candles, bubble bath, face masks (2 or 3 times a week), and lovely creams and potions.  It was a way of washing the working day away, relaxing, and separating work from private time.

I have no illusions about the effects of using face masks. They don’t make dramatic differences in the appearance of my skin. Nothing but plastic surgery will get rid of wrinkles. But they make my skin feel comfortable, soft, moisturised. And I love the calming ritual of applying and removing them.

These are some of the masks I have been using. Some of them were gifts with purchase (Yves Rocher, Kiehl’s, Filorga, Body Shop) and not something I would normally buy. Others were on special (Doctor Babor, Dr Organic, Estée Lauder, Pixi, or are sample sizes (Clinique, Body Shop sachet). My favourite of all of them is the Babor one. Normally it would be too pricey for me but I stacked some discounts and got it at a good price. It really moisturises my skin.
