In Sweden there is a car company – Go More – where you can lease or rent a car. You can even rent out your own car to others. Go More have a ‘Share or Sink’ campaign in the summer where you can take trips in a floating car. It doesn’t cost anything and you can book online. The car floats past our apartment every day in summer, so this year I am really hoping I can manage to book a time. Of course, COVID may prevent it this year but let’s hope the world is better by then.
My husband and I do not have a car. Instead we use different car sharing apps when we need a car for a few hours. Usually we book a car for about four hours, and it costs about $10 per hour. It is convenient for us (no insurance, parking, or maintenance to pay) and good for the environment. It takes us about 3 minutes to walk to the nearest car.
