Tuna Melts My Heart

If you have ever seen the meme above, you have seen Tuna, the adorable little chiweenie (Chihuahua x Dachshund) with the overbite. Tuna was abandoned at the side of the road by his original owner, rescued into a shelter and was, from there, placed in a cage at a Los Angeles farmer’s market where Courtney Dasher saw him – 4 months old and shivering in an oversized sweatshirt – and fell in love immediately.

Tuna was originally called Wormy by the shelter, due to his trauma-related way of wiggling forward on his tummy. His next name was Mr Burns because of his resemblence to Mr Burns from The Simpsons. And eventually he became Tuna.

After the Reddit meme above went viral, Tuna (now ten year’s old) became an internet sensation and now has calendars, and books about him. Courtney uses Tuna’s fame to raise awareness about adoption and rescue work.

Whenever I am having a bad day, Tuna pics always brighten up my day. Find Tuna’s Instagram ‘Tuna Melts My Heart’ here

  1. i used to have a Chihuahua who had an overbite and a foot that looked like a mitten. His name was Big Boy, he was such a love. I really hate the people who went out of their way to run him over.

    1. I’m so very sorry that Big Boy’s life was cut short – there’s a special place in hell for the evil entities that did that to him. Karma never forgets.
