Vintage games

When I was growing up, I (and all my friends) had a compendium of games. It usually included Ludo, Tiddly Winks, Snakes and Ladders, Chinese Checkers, Dominoes, Pick up Sticks and a set of cards to play Snap.

We used to spend hours playing them (South Africa did not have television until 1976 or so) and I was wondering the other day if I would remember the rules? I am sure I would enjoy them the same now as I did then. It was really fun.

  1. Oh, how I love each and every one of your posts! Thank you for such a lovely blog; it makes me smile every day. As to these games, I LOVED playing that Chinese Checkers on the metal board! hehe Oh, man, does that bring back memories. Might have to hunt down a copy of it! And the old-school Battleship, too. Sweet…
