A Word A Day

You know how when you shop online, you end up automatically subscribed to newsletters, specials, updates etc?

It is actually becoming harder to find the little checkbox to opt out to the mails before you buy something. My heart sinks every time I start getting mails I did not sign up for, and realise that I was bamboozled by companies trying to force them on me. I then have to unsubscribe, which often takes up to a week.

One piece of daily email I have had for years, always look forward to, and always find useful, is A Word A Day. If I were to be accidentally unsubscribed, I would sign up again the minute I found out.

Each day you receive a new word, its definition, use, and etymology. There are also theme weeks which deal with ‘families’ of words.

If you like words, I can definitely recommend!

  1. I get emails from sites and places I never even visited. I use a separate email address just for my couponing, rebates, sales, etc because I know I’m going to get a lot of junk. Once a week I go through my inbox and ‘unsubscribe’ a little at a time to keep it under control. But still….they find me!
