Philip Kingsley Hair Products

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer has been going since 1974, when Philip created it for Audrey Hepburn. It is a pre-shampoo treatment. I buy it in the 1000ml tub which is very cost effective. The tub is also one of those with a vacuum pump which gets out every last drop while not letting any air in. This means it stays perfectly fresh for ages.

I also like his silver shampoo and all the moisturising conditioners. When I used to swim a lot I used Philip Kingsley Swimcap, which protected my hair from chlorine and salt, and conditioned it at the same time. It also protects colour fade as it contains UV protection. It was developed for the first US Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team.

The silver kit is great if you have blonde or grey hair that is dull because of deposits or even dye that has gone brassy. It gently removes the yellow tones.

Moisture Extreme is a fantastic condition for porous, frizzy and/or Afro Caribbean hair. It is not too heavy and it makes your hair really easy to comb through. I buy it in the 1000ml bottles.

I only wash my hair once or twice a week but I condition it every day. I have waist length thick curly hair so I use a LOT of conditioner. My hair is fussier about shampoo than about conditioner so I tend to use Redken or Kerastase. I shop at Lookfantastic and HQHair because their prices are cheaper and they always have 3 for 2, gifts with purchase and 20% offers which means if you time your shopping you can pay less than you would for a common or garden Boots/drugstore type equivalent. They also sell super sizes – top photograph for very good prices and they are always economical.
