I love doing this!

I hate my feet sticking out of the bed – probably because both my cats when they were kittens used to love pouncing on any toes sticking out from under the blanket. They must look like little twitching sausages!

I remember once when we went away telling my stepson that his friends could not sleep in our bed. Well, when we came back we found out that friends had indeed slept in our bed but that the kitten had savaged their toes so badly that they swore never to darken our doorstep again!

  1. It’s very interesting – maybe it is what we learned growing up? My mum used to tuck me into bed so lightly I couldn’t move. I love that feeling still – to be all snugly tucked up in bed like in a cocoon.

  2. Our cat has always slept with us. At one time he concentrated on me, but now when we first go to bed he camps out on my husband, then sleeps next to him on the outside. Sometime later he may move over to me. So our cat has a new trick, learned in the last few months. Your fix won’t work for this one – he pounces on toes UNDER the covers. That would be OK, but then he bites at them, through the blanket/coverlet/quilt/whatever. I wouldn’t care about the pouncing, and sometimes that is all it is, it’s the biting that is annoying. He’s never done any damage this way, but it is too startling. And the toes don’t even have to be moving. If you’re awake as he plots this, you can see him sitting there, eying up your motionless toes, and preparing to strike.
