The difference between being robust and being resilient

Robust means being able to continue functioning without any fundamental changes to the system, even in the face of internal and external challenges. This system is designed to prevent failure.

Resilient means being able to adapt in the face of internal and external challenges while continuing to perform. This system, accepts that failure is inevitable and focuses instead on fast recovery from failure.
