We spent a quiet Christmas at home, as usual – just Mark, Amanda, and I. I always have a challenge finding Mark a present he will really use. He loves stationery so last year I bought him an Ogami notebook made of stone. He loved it, but said the paper was a bit weird to write on. So this year I asked Ray Blake of My Life All in One Place to make him a personalised traveler’s notebook in Field Notes size.
It is gorgeous – satiny smooth but tough black leather, with three Field notes-sized refills and one Moleskine refill. I also added a credit card pocket and zippered pouch to hold bits and bobs and credit cards and made an extra Kraft file for papers. It will also hold his passport.
Mark has been an absolute rock during the past two years. He is my best friend and I will never be able to repay him for everything he has done for me. He even does my laundry once a week as I hate the communal laundry room. He gives great presents and cooks Christmas dinner like a dream. What a man!
