I have written about badly designed packaging before, but this one is getting its own post today:
This is a typical example of form over function. Just like gorgeous websites where you just cannot find the price of something, or the shipping costs. Because actually featuring those in an online shop would spoil the sleek minimal design….
Why this is so badly designed:
- tall and slim with narrower base means it topples over very easily
- made of glass means it could easily break
- screw top means it is impossible to open with one hand and because of the topple factor you have to put the lid back on as soon as possible
- containing oil means the bottle easily gets slippery leading to an increased likelihood of it slipping, falling and/or breaking
