Encouraging unnecessary spending

I don’t often name and shame on my blog but today I am going to make an exception. I love Les Nereides jewellery but I only buy it when it is  half price on seasonal sales. Because each is handmade and unique I usually buy them in-store so that I can see the slight differences for myself. I have bought from Les Nereides online ONCE. Two weeks ago.

Yestereday I received this email and I was stunned.

I am leaving in their details and the code in case you want to shop for a whopping 5% discount (and be reminded in 15 days that you have not shopped there for a whole two weeks!). I am not sure what makes me so cross…that they are pressuring me? That they are encouraging me to buy things with a feeble 5% discount? Or that I have lots of these exciting mails to look forward to because a) I did not subscribe to emails from them so b) there is no unsubscribe option for these mails?

  1. I hate places that spam you with emails once you shop with them. I actually have an email account that I just use for online things so places can spam me as much as they want as I only check that email at most once a week (unless I am expecting an email).
