The Filofax selection has dropped drastically in Stockholm over the past two years. I would say the number of shops carrying them has dropped by half, and the selection available in the remaining shops is roughly half what it used to be. I was feeling pretty hard done by until I heard from US fans of the brand that they have even less variety there. And when I was in London recently there were hardly any shops which carried it anymore, compared to the last time I looked. Most of them seem to be pushing their own-brand planners instead. Selfridges collection was pitiful, the Filofax shop in Covent Garden had closed, and Paperchase in Covent Garden no longer sold Filofax. Luckily the Filofax Shop in Conduit Street had a super selection of everything and wonderful sales assistants – though it closed down shortly after I visited.
So when I came back to Stockholm I was more appreciative of what is on offer here:

NK has legendary staff in the paper section. Claes is a Filofax fundi and will talk with you for ages about different models. He has been working there since the 90s and loves organisers and pens. He will also order anything you want and has taken to ordering from the UK now as their selection is better.
The nice thing about Claes is that he will spend just as much time with you if you want cheap ink for your pen as he would if you were buying a David Oscarson watersnake pen. He once spent about an hour with me when I couldn’t decide between inks for my fountain pens.
Wow! Can I give you my shopping list for next time?! Filofaxes are so scarce where I live. I bought my first one at a tjmaxx about 15+ years ago!
