Stockholm has had 30 minutes of sunshine so far in December

When there is thick snow on the ground, everything seems brighter, cleaner, and quieter. However, it has been raining almost constantly and seems even darker than normal. You know things are getting bad when you almost wear out your umbrella. This is the forecast for the next few days

I have been severely soaked multiple times a day. I am low in energy because of the darkness and I am still recovering from a cold. So I was so happy to see this woman on the underground. The vibrant colours and care she took with her outfit lit me up inside as though the sun actually was shining. She will never know how much the ten minutes we travelled together on the underground cheered me up. Swedes normally wear dark colours in winter so she really was a sight for sore eyes.

And my friend Jack has taken these photos from home. The first one below is the street upon which I used to live. My house (built in 1840) was about two houses to the left.
